Approach

Affirming

My practice is rooted in affirming therapy, where your unique identity and experiences are welcomed without judgment. I create a supportive, trauma-informed space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings freely, utilizing my training in LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and strengths-based care, to help you build self-knowledge and self-compassion. By celebrating your strengths and resilience, we focus on empowering you to embrace your authentic self and navigate life's challenges with pride and confidence.

Creative

I incorporate creativity into our sessions to help you express yourself in ways that go beyond words. Tools like expressive arts are helpful ways for us to explore identity, values, and gather information about how your past experiences influence your present thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This creative approach can offer new perspectives and insights, making the therapeutic process dynamic and engaging. By embracing creativity, we can uncover hidden strengths and build resilience.

Collaborative & Relational

Therapy with me is a collaborative journey where we work together as partners in your healing process. Drawing from psychodynamic, humanistic, and attachment theories, I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship as a vehicle for change. By fostering trust, openness, and mutual respect, we create a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. Your insights and experiences are invaluable, and together, we’ll develop personalized strategies that resonate with your unique needs and goals.

Research Informed

My approach is informed by evidence-based practices and standards of care. Integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I tailor our sessions to your individual needs. Staying current with advancements in the field allows me to provide you with the most effective tools and strategies. Together, we’ll use insights from Minority Stress Theory and other therapeutic models to support your journey toward growth and healing.

Gender Affirming Care

I have extensive training and clinical experience in providing gender-affirming mental health support following the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care. I provide assessment, treatment, and letters of support for gender-affirming medical care. I also provide support and resources for parents of transgender & gender-expansive youth. As a queer, cis-gender therapist, I center advocacy and informed consent during our work together rather than gatekeeping access to transgender healthcare.

Fees and Insurance

Individual therapy is $180 per 50-minute session

Family and couples sessions are $225 per 75-minute session

To allow equitable access to therapy, I hold a number of spaces for sliding-scale clients who are not able to pay my full fee. If your income or life circumstances lead you to need sliding-scale therapy services, please contact me to see if I have any openings.

Insurance: I accept Aetna and Cigna insurance plans.

I provide superbills upon request and I utilize a service called Mentaya to help private pay clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Feel free to reach out to me and I can confirm whether your insurance plan reimburses for out-of-network benefits.

Please note, I provide therapy both online throughout California and in person in Kentfield, Marin County.
